Single-Stream Recycling Coming Next Year

Posted: Updated:

Waste Management wants customers in Reno to get ready for a single-stream recycling system that will go into effect next year.

Starting in January Waste Management will distribute new recycling and trash carts to Reno customers and the new system will begin in February.

Residents will be required to select the size of bins they want by December 5th with larger bins costing more per month.

All recycling and waste will have to fit in those bins with 20 stickers given out annually to put on bags of excess waste. Additional stickers can be purchased from Waste Management.

Currently, Waste Management will haul away up to 7 bags of excess waste per week.
