The University of Nevada (2-21, 0-11 MW) volleyball team lost a Mountain West match on Halloween night to Fresno State (14-9, 8-3 MW) at the Virginia Street Gym. The Bulldogs won by scores of 25-17, 25-19 and 25-16 to improve to 14-9 on the season and 8-3 in the MW. The Wolf Pack dropped to 2-21 and 0-11 in conference play.
There were six ties and four lead changes in the first set but FS won 25-17. The Bulldogs used an 11-3 run to break a 14 all tie to take the set. Set two was tied at 13 before FS outscored Nevada 12-6 to win 25-16. The Bulldogs held a 4-1 advantage in the final set and won 25-16 to sweep the match 3-0.
Senior Grace Anxo led Nevada with a match-high 12 kills while freshman setter Lyndsey Anderson dished out 11 assists.
Maci Murdock and Marissa Brand had 10 kills each for FS. Brand added 10 digs to post a double-double. Setter Christina Lee had 27 assists.
The Pack hit .165 in the match and FS .302. Nevada held a slight blocking advantage 7-6.
Nevada hosts San José State on Saturday at 7 p.m.
