University of Nevada Partners With Robotics Company

Posted: Updated:

The University of Nevada and a robotics company teamed up Thursday to bring robots into the classroom.

The university's College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources is giving lab space to Hamilton Robotics, and in return, students at the college will be trained to use cutting edge robotics for biochemistry research.

"It's sort of a win-win situation, we get a wet lab, we get some superior trained young students, but at the same time we can bring our competence over to the university system," says Steve Hamilton.

The robots that students will be working with are used to perform tedious or repetitive tasks in the laboratories, and organizers say that by limiting human error, they expect the lab to be running faster than ever.
