Police say they finished processing the crime scene after Monday's shooting at Sparks Middle School. A fund has also been set up to help the victims' families.

Police have also now officially identified the staff member shot as math teacher Michael Landsberry.

Police also they will not release the shooter's name, but did say he was 12 years old and was a 7th grader at the school. They said he used a Ruger 9mm to shot Landsberry and himself. They also believe he got the gun from his parents, but are still tracing the origin of where the gun came from. Police say the parents are cooperating with authorities and could face charges in the case.

Police also gave a timeline of the shootings:

At 7:15am, the student shot a fellow student in the shoulder, then walked towards Landsberry, shot him in the chest, then walked south and shot a second fellow student in the stomach before finally turning the gun on himself.

"During the incident after the first student was shot, Mr. Landsberry calmly walked towards the shooter, putting his hands up in a motion to try to stop the individual's actions. Mr. Landsberry was fatally shot in the chest. Mr. Landsberry's heroic actions by stepping towards the shooter allowed time for other students on the playground area to flee the area," said Chief Mike Mieras of the Washoe County School District Police.

Landsberry was a member of the Nevada Air National Guard and a Marine. McQueen High School and some military members will salute Landsberry this Thursday at the 7pm McQueen home football game. The tribute and salute will happen at halftime.

Landsberry coached boys basketball and girls soccer at Sparks High School. He started at Traner Middle School in 2001 and Sparks Middle School at 2006.

Classes are canceled for the rest of this week at Sparks Middle School. Neighboring Agnes Risley Elementary canceled classes for today as well; classes will resume Wednesday.

During the 10am police briefing, Sparks Mayor Geno Martini said, "I want to say something to the school children today: Sometimes bad things happen. And it is up to all of us to be strong and push forward, and know that goodness and love will trump these terrible events that much of you will never forget. Don't be afraid to talk to your teachers and your moms and dads and those you trust and love on what has occurred today...yesterday."

A candlelight vigil is scheduled for Wednesday at 7pm in front of Sparks Middle School at 2275 18th Street. The Patriot Guard and various veteran groups will participate in an honor guard.
