Area Churches to Hold Community Prayer, Candlelight Vigil

Posted: Updated:

In light of Monday's deadly Sparks Middle School shooting, one Sparks church will hold a community prayer night on Thursday.

The Sparks Nazarene Church will hold the community prayer night at its 2200 El Rancho Drive location at 6:30pm.

It will be a multi-faith event, led by student ministries from our community.

For more information, call Sparks Nazarene Church at 775-358-4066.

And the Spanish Springs Presbyterian Church will hold a candlelight vigil Wednesday at 7pm in front of Sparks Middle School at 2275 18th Street.

The Community Foundation of Western Nevada has set up a fund to help victims' families. You can donate to the "Compassion Fund" at 775-333-5499 or go to www.nevadafund.org. Police warned the community to be aware of possible scams, and urged people to use the Nevada Fund link.
