Officer-Involved Shooting in Plumas County Hospital

From the Plumas County Sheriff's Office

On Sunday morning at 12:48am a Plumas County Sheriff Deputy responded to Eastern Plumas Health Care following a report of a patient causing a disturbance.

Upon arrival the Deputy was confronted by a 53-year-old white man. A violent struggle ensued which resulted in the Deputy using deadly force. The suspect died at Eastern Plumas Health Care.

The name of the suspect will not be released until the family is notified. The Department of Justice is conducting an investigation in conjunction with the Plumas County District Attorney's office.

The Officer has been placed on paid administrative leave as is customary in this type of incident.
