Off-Duty Law Enforcement Arrested for D.U.I.

Reno Police arrested a man, who they say is in law enforcement, for driving under the influence after he crashed his car.

According to police, the accident happened Thursday night on Robb Drive, near Sharlands Avenue in northwest Reno. 

They say the driver was getting off of I-80 westbound, trying to make a right-hand turn onto Robb. They say he failed to turn, crossed over the opposite lanes, and crashed through a fence.

RPD says the driver is a member of law enforcement and was arrested for D.U.I. They say he was taken to the hospital for an evaluation before he was booked into the Washoe County Jail.

RPD tells us it was a Parole and Probation Officer with the Department of Public Safety, but did not release his name.
