Washoe County Sheriff's Office detectives say they've arrested two suspects in connection with a series of residential burglaries in Sun Valley.

Deputies say 18-year-old Kenneth Foreman-Fisher of Sun Valley was arrested September 27th. The second suspect, a 17-year-old juvenile, was arrested October 3rd.

Detectives say they believe the duo broken into the homes through unlocked doors or by forcing open sliding doors located to the rear of the residences. All the alleged crimes took place in the Highland Ranch area of Sun Valley during the month of September.

Both suspects face multiple charges related 4 residential burglaries. Authorities say they stole electronics, jewelry, guns and a vehicle.

Foreman-Fisher is also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. His bail is set at $80,000.

Washoe County detectives say homeowners should follow some safety tips:

* Be extra cautious about locking windows, sliders, and doors when leaving for any length of time. We suggest keeping all entrance points into your house secured while you're at home as well.

* Ask a neighbor or other dependable persons to watch your house and retrieve your newspapers and mail if possible.
* Set indoor and outdoor lights on timers and think about doing the same with a television or radio to make it appear that someone is home.
* Never keep gifts or valuable objects in plain view from any window. Close blinds, drapes, and curtains because if a burglar can see those items they will make a reasonable attempt to take them from you.

* If a person knocks at your door and you don't recognize them, don't feel obligated to open your door. Teach your children that by no means will they open the door to anyone prior to your knowledge and authorization.

Detectives believe the suspects may have been involved in additional residential burglaries in that same area.
