University of Nevada senior guard Deonte Burton has been named to the Mountain West preseason first-team as selected by the media.  Burton was a repeat selection after earning the honor last season.

The Los Angeles native averaged 16.3 points per game last season and 14.9 points during his career.  Burton earned third-team All-MW honors last season.  This past summer Burton earned a tryout with USA Basketball.

Burton has started all 98 games of his career for the Wolf Pack and ranks 10th in school history with 1,459 points.  He is eighth with 121 steals and ninth with 373 assists going into his senior campaign.

In the preseason media poll the Wolf Pack was picked to finish ninth.  New Mexico who captured the regular season and tournament titles last season were picked first.
