Police: Infant Was at Reno Home-Based Daycare Before Death

Reno police an infant that died Monday was at a home-based daycare before he died at a hospital.

Police say Reno firefighters, REMSA and police were called to a home on Wheeler Avenue Monday around 10:30am on the report of a medical issue with an infant.

Upon arrival, they say the unidentified infant was rushed to a hospital where he later died.

The cause of death is still under investigation by the Medical Examiner and will require laboratory tests. The results of this testing is not expected for a couple of months.

Police say the infant was one of the daycare's clients and not related to the home's resident. They say all parties involved are cooperating with police - and no criminal charges are pending at this time.
