Churchill Deputies Seek ID From Woman's Remains

Posted: Updated:

Churchill County deputies say they need help identifying remains found this summer north of the Jessup exit.

Deputies say the remains were found August 18th on a remote hillside north of the Jessup exit.

Preliminary anthropological and dental reports reveal the remains are from a Caucasian woman between 30 and 50 years old. Her teeth and jawbone show she had extensive corrective dental work on several molars.

Facial injuries also show she had recent surgery. Deputies say rib fractures show she suffered severe trauma to the right side of her body weeks prior to her death.

The investigation into the woman's identity remains ongoing and DNA is in progress.

If you have any information that can help deputies, call the Churchill County Sheriff's Office at 775.423.3116 or Secret Witness at 775.423.0110. Your call will remain anonymous and you could be eligible for a reward.
