Deputies: No Foul Play Suspected in Fatal Fernley Car Fire

Posted: Updated:

Authorities who found a person dead inside of a burnt-out car at a Fernley hotel parking lot earlier this week call the incident a car accident and say they don't believe foul play is involved.

Deputies identified the person as 62-year-old Greiss Ghobrial of Wildwood, Mo.

Lyon County deputies say they were called to the Comfort Suites a little before midnight on Tuesday and found a car and truck on fire.

Crews say that once they extinguished the blaze, they found Ghobrial's body inside the car.

An exact cause of death is still pending, but sheriff's Lt. J.L. Pattison says a medical episode may have been involved.
