Pre Ski Season Flurry of Business

Posted: Updated:

That smattering of almost-wintry weather has got skiers in the mood. And that is certainly good for local ski shops like Bobo's Mogul Mouse in Reno. They have added on staff and stocked up their gear and it's paying off.

"This is the best start to the ski season we've seen in five years!" says Pat Parriguirre of Bobo's Mogul Mouse. "Just a little bit of early weather has been great for business. It has people thinking ahead and we are ready for them."

Bobo's has deeply discounted last year's gear and is also offering the latest and greatest for skiiers. And that's bringing customers in the door.

"We had a storm this week and I really want to be ready when the snow flies!" says Andrea Tash of Reno with a smile.

And ski shops aren't the only ones getting attention. Lake Tahoe ski resorts are all offering their best deals of the season right now. In fact, the prices on passes is expected to jump up and in some cases double in October.
