Delegates to the 37th biennial convention of the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) unanimously elected Nevada Republican leader Lynne Hartung to the NFRW Executive Committee as treasurer for the 2014-2015 term. The election was held Sept. 21 in Louisville, Ky.
Hartung, a resident of Sparks, will take office Jan. 1, 2014. She currently serves as chairman of the NFRW Membership Committee. She also served as President of the Nevada Federation of Republican Women for 2010 & 2011. As a member of the Board of Directors of the Better Business Bureau of Northern Nevada, she currently also serves as Treasurer. Hartung has been employed by KTVN, Channel 2 since 2001.
Founded in 1938, the NFRW has thousands of active members in local clubs across the nation and in several U.S. territories, making it one of the largest women's political organizations in the country. The grassroots organization works to promote the principles and objectives of the Republican Party, elect Republican candidates, inform the public through political education and activity, and increase the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government.
