From the Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum:

Mat Sinclair, MPA, Executive Director of the Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum (The Discovery) announced today a new campaign, Keep Building, aimed at bringing an exciting, new Keva Plank Exhibit to The Discovery by the end of 2013.

In order to make the new exhibit a reality, the Keep Building campaign, a community-wide effort, must reach its $25,000 goal. Once the goal is reached, The Discovery will purchase 15,000 planks, a variety of work surfaces and seating, and a selection of example structures to help guide exploration and creation. This will be a sizable addition to The Discovery and will create many new and exciting opportunities for visitors, field trips and other activities in the museum.

This announcement comes as The Discovery celebrates its second anniversary. "After serving more than 155,000 visitors, of all ages, each year for the past two years, we couldn't think of a better way to look to the future than with an all-new exhibit that will be our largest to date. We are thrilled to work with our members and the community to make this new exhibit a reality," said Sinclair. "The Keva Plank exhibit will provide a fresh experience for visitors, and will create the opportunity for a whole new area of learning. We hope to inspire the next generation of builders, architects and innovators."

To join this effort, donations can be made at www.nvdm.org. Each donation level comes with rewards including T-shirts, grand opening invitations and exclusive parties in the new exhibit, and 100 percent of the money raised through this campaign will be used to purchase and install the exhibit. And, between now and November 30, 2013, donations have twice the impact as the Terry Lee Wells Foundation is matching any cash donation up to $500,000! Personalized planks are also available and come with a duplicate that goes into the exhibit so visitors can see the contributors that made the exhibit a reality.
