The University of Nevada soccer team fell 2-0 to Montana Friday afternoon at the South Campus Stadium.

With the loss, Nevada drops to (2-4-2 MW) on the season, while Montana improves to (3-3-3 Big Sky).

The Wolf Pack began the match aggressively on the offensive end, attempting a corner kick 30 seconds into the game. The team had three shots on goal and an additional corner kick within the first 13 minutes of the match. Montana goalkeeper Kendra McMillen and the Grizzlies defense kept Nevada out of the net. Montana's first shot came in the 19th minute, as Makenzie Akins' attempt went wide right of the goal. The teams entered halftime tied 0-0. The Grizzlies had nine shots in the opening period to six for the Wolf Pack.

Montana senior midfielder India Watne put the Grizzlies ahead 1-0 with a goal six minutes into the second half. The Grizzlies added to its advantage two minutes later, scoring a goal on a shot by Maddey Frey to put Montana up 2-0. Nevada midfielder Chrisalyn Fonte had a header attempt that fell to the right of the goal in the 60th minute. Kara Kopolow also had a header attempt on a corner kick from Katherine Davison 11 minutes later that sailed over the crossbar. Montana held on to win the match 2-0.

Nevada will close out the non-conference slate with a contest Sunday afternoon against Gonzaga. Kick-off is 1 p.m. at the Gonzaga Soccer Field.
