Things 2 Do!

It's a wild weekend on tap in Northern Nevada. You can help raise money for wild animals, run in a very wild race at UNR, take a tour of Wild West history in Reno and enjoy dessert, wine and wild animal art. Enjoy!

May Center Fall Equinox 5:30-6:30 pm

Celebrate the Fall Equinox at Rancho San Rafael with a stroll through the botanical gardens. It goes from 5:30- 6:30 p.m.

Saturday 9/21

Harvest of Homes Tour to benefit HRPS 10-3

There are five historic homes on the tour this year from north of the Truckee River in the Powning District to the Marshal Mansion south of Lake Virginia Lake. The money raised on the tour goes to funding grants to other historic home owners to fix up their properties and preserve history for the future. It's put on by the Historic Reno Preservation Society.

Just Desserts for Safe Haven 10-6

The Safe Haven Wildlife Rescue in Imlay, Nevada houses large cats and wild animals that have outgrown zoos or domestic life. And the Artsource Art Gallery in South Reno is holding its annual fundraiser to help the Safe Haven. It's called ‘Just Deserts" and will feature deserts from local restaurants and bakeries, wine and lots of wildlife animal art. All proceeds go to Safe Haven.

Animal Ark Out of Africa Safari Gala 2-6 pm

The Animal Ark north of Reno is holding its annual fundraiser too. It's called "The Out of Africa Gala." It runs from 2-6 and all proceeds go to the Animal Ark.

Carson City Ghost Walk 6:30 pm 3rd and Curry Streets:

See the ghostly figures yourself and hear about their history in Nevada's Capitol City. Starts at 6:30 p.m.

UNR vs Hawaii 5:05 pm:

It's a home game and kick-off is set for 5:05 p.m. at Mackay Stadium. Go Pack!

Meet Brian Crane Book Launch 11 am Sundance Books in Reno

You know him…you read him and you can meet him this weekend at Sundance Books and Music as he launches his 6th collection of cartoons. The greeting starts at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Color me Rad 9 am UNR 5K

It's an annual run and a predictably colorful event. The Color Me Rad 5K starts at 9 am this year at UNR. You are splashed with colored cornstarch based paint all along the route and the money goes to Special Olympics. Oh…and bonus….our own Kristen Remington will be running with that colorful pack.
