Rim Fire Full Containment Still Expected Friday

Posted: Updated:

Firefighters have increased containment on the massive Rim Fire burning near Yosemite National Park.

They say the 256,169 acre wildfire is now 84% contained.

The U.S. Forest Service says a hunter started the illegal fire on August 17th and allowed it to spread. No arrests have been made, and the hunter's name is being withheld pending further investigation.

It says the blaze still has a high potential for growth, but remains on track for full containment this Friday.
