Edible Pedal Ride Offers Children 10-Mile Option

Posted: Updated:

The 100 mile Edible Pedal bike ride from Bowers Mansion up Kingsbury Grade is happening this weekend. But there is a 10 mile option - and local doctors are getting kids signed up.

Fifteen of Dr. Kathleen Christopherson's patients will be in the ride because she sponsored them as a way to encourage health.

Isaac Anguiano is one of her patients - and he's excited for his very first organized ride. He even asked for a bike for his birthday and has been riding every day since. "I never done 10 miles only done 7 but I think it'll be a challenge that I can take."

He hopes to one day be ready for the 100 mile ride that will be taking place this Sunday.

There are still 50 more spots left. And all the cyclists will get to enjoy local grown food created by students across northern Nevada.
