Whether you are running from the gym to work or from a project meeting to happy hour, sometimes you have no time to spare. But that doesn’t mean we should look rushed. We want to look our best always! So we asked some of our favorite experts for some quick tips to getting our hair in tip-top shape in five minutes or less.
No Time to Wash? No Problem
Celebrity Hair Stylist Meghan Frayne of Angelo David Salon says dry shampoo is an absolute must when you have no time to wash and style your hair.
Frayne recommends the Angelo David Brushes to properly brush and distribute the dry shampoo and absorb sweat in the hair. “After prepping the hair with dry shampoo, hair can be pulled into a clean, high pony,” she says. “You can also comb back all hair to the middle of the back of your head then twist upward like a French twist, and use pins to fix it into place. Let the ends be fun and whimsical to create height. Then put on your favorite headband for a sleek, professional look.”
Look Polished in Minutes
“For those with medium or long hair, I suggest pulling hair back into a low bun,” says Roy Teeluck, celebrity hair stylist. It's fast, easy and sophisticated. Most importantly, it's a polished style that gives you an instantly chic look.
For tools, you'll need an elastic, bobby pins, and a small bottle of hairspray. Simply gather hair in a low ponytail, secure with the elastic, wrapping hair around base of pony and secure with bobby pins along the way. Use hairspray to tame any loose fly-aways. For a more casual look, keep the ends loose.
Easy After-Gym Waves
Stac Yagu, professional stylist and co-owner of SoBlo blowdry salon/bar in South Florida says, in a quick pinch, use your hands to wet your hair in the sink and slick it up in a sleek bun with a rubber band. A bun looks more polished than a ponytail and can be easily achieved.
Another alternative is to braid your hair in the morning or evening prior. After work or gym you can go to the bathroom and undo the braid for a wavy do' or sweep it up in a clip.
