Police Arrest Two for Vehicle Burglaries

Posted: Updated:

Sparks Police report, that at 4 a.m. on August 31st, a patrolling officer saw two young men breaking into a car parked in the 2100 block of Fargo Way. The officer then pulled over his vehicle, and the two suspects ran from the scene. After a short foot chase, the officer caught both the suspects, and placed them under arrest. Both were found to have evidence of the break-in in their clothes.

The elder suspect has been identified as 20-year-old Sparks resident Johnny Olivas. The other has been identified as a 17-year-old Sparks resident, but because he is a minor, his name is being withheld.

After catching the burglars, police searched the area for other vehicles that may have been burglarized, but found none.

Police say they want to take this opportunity to remind citizens to lock their cars and to never leave valuables unattended in vehicles.

If you have any additional information on this burglary, you're asked to report it to the Sparks Police Department Detectives at 775-353-2225.
