NIAA Cancels Games Due to Smoke

Posted: Updated:

The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association has officially canceled all outdoor activities scheduled for Friday, August 30th and Saturday, August 31st after concerns that lowered air quality may affect player health.

This includes all NIAA games in Mono, El Dorado, Douglas, Carson, Lyon, Storey, Churchill and Washoe counties.

Organizers say that the cancellation can be overruled, if the area has an Air Quality Index of 50 or below, and organizers get authorization from school district officials.
