Spanish Springs Library Re-Opened After Possible Gas Leak

The Washoe County reports that Spanish Springs Library at 7100 Pyramid Way was closed until 11:30 this morning after staff members reported smelling gas in the library.

Washoe County Facilities and NV Energy were called to the library to investigate, and tested all the gas lines in the building. They found no leaks or any other disturbances, and the library has since been reopened to the public.

    In his first collegiate start, freshman Jake Jackson dominated on the mound to help lead Nevada (1-2) to an 8-1 victory over UC Irvine (2-1) on Sunday afternoon. The Wolf Pack recorded eleven hits on the day. Jackson (1-0) earned the win in his first career college start, finishing with only three hits allowed and five strikeouts through six shutout innings.

    Mono County Sheriff's Office says a fire has erupted near Pleasant Valley Campground. As of 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, they say the fire is approximately 100 acres. Pleasant Valley Pit Campground and Pleasant Valley Campground have been evacuated.
