The Washoe County Health District reports that there are unhealthy levels of fine particulates in the air above Reno and Sparks.

Smoke from California wildfires is blowing into Northern Nevada, officials say ash in the air is expected to create "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups" or "Unhealthy" conditions through Tuesday, August 27th.

The Health District says that the smoke is most likely to effect those with pre-existing respiratory problems or heart disease. The elderly and children are asked to avoid prolonged exertion.

If smoke is affecting you, you are advised to remain indoors with the windows closed and the air conditioning on.

We will have updates as soon as the air quality conditions change.
