A man is in critical condition this morning after he was hit by a car on Baring Boulevard in Sparks Thursday night.

According to SPD the accident happened just before 11 p.m. on Baring Boulevard between Rockwood Street and Goldy Way.  Friends of the 23-year-old victim told police he was heavily intoxicated when he walked out into the street.

He suffered a broken femur and head trauma. REMSA transported him to Renown Regional Medical Center where he was in critical condition Friday morning.

The road was closed for a short time while they investigated the accident, but has since reopened.
