Lightning-Sparked Finch Fire North of Reno 100% Contained

Firefighters are mopping up after a lightning-sparked wildfire north of Reno. The Finch Fire broke out Wednesday afternoon near Red Rock Road.

The 360-acre Finch Fire started just after 2:30pm in the area of Red Rock Road in the Rancho Haven area north near the state line. It briefly threatened three homes.

There are no road closures.

About 30 personnel are fighting this fire.

The Washoe County Health District says if you are sensitive to the smoke, stay inside, if possible. Remain indoors with the windows closed and air conditioning on and reduce prolonged or heavy exertion while outdoors.
