Stone House Cafe Says Man Stole Meat From Restaurant

Posted: Updated:

A popular restaurant in Reno has been the victim of theft more than once. Someone stole meat from a locker outside the Stone House Cafe.

Surveillance video shows a man crawling under a back fence, breaking the lock on a cooler, all to steal thousands of dollars worth of meat. He took the meat away in a shopping cart and now the owner of this popular restaurant is hoping to track him down.

The Stone House Cafe has been around for nearly a decade and the owner's late wife, Adele chose this spot because of its charming and safe surroundings in old southwest Reno.

"Pray to God we catch the gentleman and not allow this to happen for other restaurants, other businesses or even homes," says owner Paul Abowd.

The owner has no idea what the man would be doing with so many cases of New York, filet, and sirloin steaks but he suspects he is selling it.

They have cameras all around the restaurant in hopes the surveillance video helps police find the meat thief.

They also no longer store meat outside.

Anyone with information is asked to call Secret Witness at 322-4900 or text their tip to 847411. Your call will remain anonymous.
