Pedestrian Critically Injured in Highway 50 Hit & Run

Posted: Updated:

Nevada Highway Patrol reports that at 3:13 a.m. on Saturday, August 10th, troopers were called to reports of a pedestrian who was hit by an automobile traveling on eastbound Highway 50 near Lake Parkway in Douglas County.

The victim, a 31-year-old Carson City man, was walking on the road east of the MontBleu Resort when he was hit. Investigators say it is possible he was struck by more than one car. One witness who stopped to help the victim, told investigators that he had been driving in the west lane when he saw the man lying in the eastbound lane, and when he pulled around to help, a blue Dodge pickup hit the downed man.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Barton Memorial Hospital, then flown to Renown Regional Medical Center by Cal Star. He is in critical condition. His name is not being released until next of kin is notified.

NHP is asking for anyone with any information on this hit and run come forward and report it by calling trooper Doug Hildebrand at (775) 689-4623.
