Hot August Nights Activities Continue Into Weekend

Posted: Updated:

It's another jam-packed day full of events for car enthusiasts as Hot August Nights continues here in the Biggest Little City.

Everything from show 'n shines, drag racing and even bowling tournaments are all underway across town.

The Big Boy's Toy Store was in the Reno Events Center all afternoon. It was a chance for folks to release their inner-child and also look for ways to improve their classic cars.

The annual Swap Meet and Cool Car Showcase started bright and early this morning at 7 am as well.

People piled into the Livestock Events Center to find some good deals on parts.

We talked to one man who has some advice for gearheads who are looking to spend. "If you're going to buy something, you better bring lots of money. I asked some people how they got such a beautiful paint job, he just pulled out and showed me his wallet," laughs Doug Graham.

Hot August Nights is spread out across town for the rest of the evening.

In fact, the Guinness Book of World Records Hula Hoop contest is being held at 7:00pm at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa.
