A shooting that turned into standoff finally ended peacefully a little more than an hour ago.

It all started at 4:40 Friday night on Parkview Street just south of Moana Lane and Neil Road.

Police tell us four men were involved in this shooting.

There was an altercation in the street--and one man shot the other in the chest with a shotgun.

Police arrived on scene quickly--and detained two of the three suspects involved.

The man who was shot was taken to Renown Medical Center--and we're told he sustained injuries but will be just fine.

The shooter was not detained immediately because he ran into his home where he barricaded himself inside for hours.

The Reno Police Department...along with SWAT and the Drug Enforcement Agency tried negotiating with him all evening.

He finally came out of his home after 9:30 p.m. and was taken away in handcuffs.

"We're still trying to figure out exactly why the shooting had occurred. Sometimes it can be over drugs, it can be a gang thing, we have gotten no indication on our end of this exactly why they were arguing in the first place." says Amy Newman of the Reno Police Department.

No charges have been filed yet--and police say detectives still have a long ways to go before figuring out exactly what happened.
