Tattoo Removal

Posted: Updated:

"You just get it on a whim. There was no inspiration; I just want something so I did it and I've regretted ever since."

For over five years Lauren Bell has wanted her tattoo gone, but traditional tattoo removal didn't seem like an option.

"It's so many treatments over so many years and I thought I've already been through so much pain, I don't want to go through all this and still continually have it."

Dallas cosmetic surgery center Skintastic is offering a new innovative treatment for tattoo removal.

"It uses photomechanical and photothermal heat to zap the tattoo, make the particles collide against each other and they explode come to the surface and remove," says Dr. Jeffrey Adelglass.

It also removes color ink.

"The greens and the yellows go very fast as well as the blacks. It's some of the brighter reds that remove buy may require a fourth or fifth treatment. In older tattoo removal methods there were still remnants left. You could still see the tattoo it's faded and with this technology we can go back and complete the tattoo removal."

In less than two minutes Lauren's session was done.

"Believe it or not we're done."

"I can't believe it. I want to cry."

"And why is that?"

"It's just nice to have it gone."

Although it will take two more sessions before the ink is gone, for Lauren the regret begins to fade today.

"Do you think this will change your life?"

"It already has."
