A witness has pinpointed Ernesto Gonzalez as the trigger man, in the 2011 shooting death of a Hells Angels chapter president.

A medical examiner says Jeffrey "Jethro" Pettigrew was shot at least five times during Street Vibrations at John Ascuaga's Nugget.

The left side of his nose was nearly severed during the brawl between the Vagos and the Hells Angels.

Donald Sandy is friends with Pettigrew and says he witnessed the shooting as he was helping a woman hide under a table.

"I see him walk in with the gun on his side, in his right hand," Sandy said. "I'm watching him as I'm on my knees and I watch him pull his hand up. At this time, I'm trying to get up but the lady's got a hold of me. I'm watching him and he just starts firing, shoots Jethro."

Sandy says he was taking cover near the Trader Dick's dance floor, just feet away from where he says Gonzalez fired his handgun.

When Chief Deputy District Attorney Karl Hall asked if the man who shot Pettigrew was in the courtroom, Sandy answered "Yeah".

Hall then asked him to point to him.

"Right there," Sandy said, pointing at the defendant. "Black hair and glasses."

Sandy says Pettigrew and Cesar Villagrana were kicking a Vago who was on the ground, right before the fatal shooting.

That man was Robert Wiggins, who also took the stand Tuesday.

"I was hit right here, in the throat," Wiggins said. "I was hit in the upper body. I can't say I was kicked in the back of the head but I took a blow to the back of the head."

He says Villagrana stood above him, firing his gun into the crowd.

"I played possum because I saw the gun," Wiggins said. "The big guy started firing the gun."

That is something that video could not confirm, though gun shots were fired before Wiggins fell to the ground.

"I was scared to death and I thought that I was going to be killed and as a matter of fact, I'm lucky to be alive today," Wiggins said.

Wiggins testified that he never saw Pettigrew get shot, even though his body fell just a few feet from him.

Another long time Vago also took the stand.

John "Cocky Rocky" Siemer says he tried to prevent a fight and says there was no conspiracy to kill Pettigrew.

"Everybody has their kids there, their families there, they're enjoying themselves," Siemer said. "Why would you put anybody's family in harm like that?"

The former Vago who was shot in the stomach, during the melee, also took the stand.

He only talked about what happened before the brawl because he says he has a form of amnesia and doesn't remember anything from when the fight started until he was in the hospital.
