New Jersey Mother Killed in Tahoe Boating Accident

Posted: Updated:

Authorities say a New Jersey mother was killed when the personal watercraft she was riding on Lake Tahoe collided with another operated by her daughter.

The 52-year-old Dawn Finn from Westwood, N.J. was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead Wednesday.

Nevada Department of Wildlife spokesman Edward Lyngar says Finn suffered massive trauma. Her 21-year-old daughter was not injured.

The accident happened about 200 yards off shore at Incline Beach.

Lyngar says the two were riding rented watercraft when they got too close together and collided. One went over the other.

Lyngar says that type of accident is all too common and people need to be aware that personal watercraft are heavy, powerful machines. (AP)
