Opening statements started Tuesday afternoon in the murder trial of Ernesto Gonzalez, who's accused of killing San Jose Hells Angel chapter president Jeffrey ‘Jethro' Pettigrew.

Eight men and seven women were picked for the jury. All are Caucasian, except for one.

Gonzalez faces several charges, including first degree murder and discharging a firearm in a structure during a fight at Trader Dick's inside John Ascuaga's Nugget on September 23, 2011.

In the prosecution's opening statements, they say the Vagos initiated a fight with the Hells Angels and that since the Vagos were staying at the Nugget, they took it as a sign of disrespect that the Hells Angels were in their territory.

Surveillance video shows the fight broke out near Trader Dicks where prosecutors say the Vagos waited to cross paths with the Hells Angels to start a fight. They say after the fight ended, Ernesto Gonzalez shot and killed Pettigrew. They say video shows Gonzalez leaving Trader Dicks with a gun in his hand.

Gonzalez is the of the Vagos chapter in Nicaragua.

Monday, Hells Angels member Cesar Villagrana changed his plea in connection with the shooting which happened during Street Vibrations.

Villagrana pleaded guilty to a challenge to fight and battery charges and faces up to 15 years in prison and a possible $15,000 fine when he is sentenced September 4th.

Villagrana originally pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and conspiracy charges.
