South Lake Tahoe Police Release Name of Stabbing Victim

South Lake Tahoe Police have released the name of a man who was stabbed to death over the weekend.

Police say 28-year-old Julian Salvador was stabbed during a fight early Saturday morning on Pioneer Trail in South Lake Tahoe. He passed away at the hospital. 

Police believe the fight started as an argument which then escalated.

An autopsy is being conducted today.

Officer say there is no confirmed information which indicates the suspect and victim were acquainted or that this event is gang-related.

Investigators are still looking for a suspect described as a white man in his early 20s, 5'8" with an average build.

Police say this is the first homicide investigation in South Lake Tahoe during 2013.
