Sparks Police Investigate Alley Shooting

Posted: Updated:

One 18-year-old was hospitalized after a shooting in a Sparks alleyway early on the morning of July 21st.

According to Sparks police, just after 2:30 a.m. officers were called to the 100 block of C street after reports of shots fired.  When officers arrived, they searched the area, but didn't find a victim or suspect. Soon after that, Renown Medical Center called police after admitting a victim of a shooting.

Officers say that the victim, an 18-year-old Sparks resident, had been walking in the 100 block of the B/C alley when he and his friends were approached by several people in a vehicle. The suspects in the vehicle then shot at the group several times before fleeing the area. The victim was hit, and then taken to the hospital by his friends, and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Sparks Police are asking for any information you might have in this case. If you have anything to report, you can do so anonymously to Secret Witness at 322-4900.
