Artown Concerts Draw Crowds to Downtown Reno

Posted: Updated:

Wingfield Park was the place to be at Wednesday afternoon. The D. G. Kicks Octet drew a crowd in for some "Cool Jazz on a Hot Summer's Day."

"We just took our lunch hour and walked over here and it was nice surprise to hear jazz in the park. We weren't expecting it," said Amanda Devencenzi.

"I love it!," says Kathy Martin of Reno. "Artown is one of the most amazing things Reno offer. I mean, it's my favorite thing besides Hot August Nights."

"I have been around since Artown began," said Stephanie Hogen. "I love that it's grown and I love the direction it's taking the city. It bring a great type of people to the city and I think it's fabulous."

Wednesday's concert was just one of 500 different concerts, art shows and events that will make up Artown this year. The festival runs at different venues through July 31st.
