It's a jam-packed weekend. We are hitting the halfway point with Artown and there are art shows galore and events all weekend long. Not to mention movies in the park and Pops on the River, sponsored by Channel 2. And there are plenty of outdoor events too including a River Safety Fair where your kids can learn to be safe on the Truckee. And you won't want to miss the Super Hero Pub Crawl. Enjoy!

 

Friday 7/12

Super Hero Pub Crawl 7:30pm

Pull out your tights and find a cape it's the Super Hero Pub Crawl. This year it starts at 7:30 and the starting bar is The Biggest Little City Club. Everyone is welcome and costumes are a must!

yART sale 9am-4pm 1420 Mt. Rose Street:

It's a yard sale of art …it's a yART. And it's one of a number of art events in old southwest Reno this weekend. Lots of local artists and lots of mediums. It's at 1480 Mt. Rose Street and it runs from 9am-4pm.

Ninth Annual Stay Afloat Safety Fair 10am-3pm

This event put on by the Truckee River Foundation is fun and important. It is for kids ages 5-13 and it shows them how to stay safe in the Truckee River. Parent participation is mandatory and they hand out the gear free to make sure your kids use it. There are 50 minute workshops from 10am-3pm.

Art in The Garden  9am-4 pm 12th year 1280 Monroe

This is a very cool event that not only shows off local artists in a fabulous rose garden and patio setting at an historic home in old southwest Reno, it also benefits the Friends of the Washoe County Library. It's at 1280 Monroe from 9am-4pm

Second Saturday Free Admission to NMA

Admission is free to the Nevada Museum of Art every second Saturday of the month and this is the Artown Second Saturday.

Annie Hall designed this year's Artown Poster and she'll be meeting the public at the Liberty Fine Art Gallery.

Pops on the River Broadway Music  5pm-11 pm

This year's theme is Broadway Music..all played by the Reno Philharmonic in the setting of Wingfield Park. And this year's event is sponsored by Channel 2. Many tables of patrons will be dressed as specific plays but you can go as you are. The event runs from 5-11.

Nevada Opera Renaissance Fair Wingfield Park  11am -10 pm

You can use those tights from the pub crawl again on Sunday at the Renaissance Fair in Wingfield Park. It's put on by the Nevada Opera. There will be food, music dancing and games of the era. It's free and costumes are encouraged.
