NHP Investigates 5 Vehicle Accident on I-580 Near Plumb

Posted: Updated:

Nevada Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a five vehicle accident on I-580 near Plumb Lane.

NHP tells us the accident just before 2pm on Thursday.

The incident happened after a smaller accident in the fast lane. Troopers say cars behind that smaller accident didn't stop causing a pileup.

Troopers say it's important for everyone to pay attention while driving.

"We want everyone to understand that when they're out here please pay attention when you're driving down the highway, make sure that you give yourself a cushion, and keep your seatbelt on for safety," says Sgt. John Schilling.

Two people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

At one point, the accident temporarily shut down four lanes of Interstate 580.
