Places 2 Check Out: Pizanos Pizza

Posted: Updated:

In our Places 2 Check Out we take you inside a new pizza place in downtown Reno.

Pizanos Pizza opened about three months ago on North Sierra Street down the street from the movie theater. The owner says the location is great for foot traffic, and they've been getting positive feedback from customers so far.

They put an emphasis on using high quality, fresh ingredients starting with their dough. "We don't use any preservative, sugars or dairy products in our dough, which in turn gives us a lower fat, lower calorie dough than a traditional pizza place," says owner Sergio Santos.

Also, their mozzarella is made with a 100% whole milk which gives the pizza a unique and rich flavor. And their sauce doesn't have any additives, so that prevents heartburn.

They offer seven different kinds of pizza daily by the slice.

The owner says it's a great place to grab a quick bite for lunch. "Our service is set up to be fast, we'll do a slice of pizza and a salad for $5.50 and you have time to sit down and enjoy your meal and get back to work in a timely manner."

They also offer specialty whole pizzas like the chicken bacon alfredo, and serve wings, sandwiches and a flatbread sandwich as well.

And they offer a selection of wine and beers.

Pizanos Pizza is located on the south side of West First Street, and west of North Sierra at 95 N. Sierra Street.

Parking is available on the garage north of West First Street. They do validate, and it's good for two hours.

And if you can't make it down there, they do deliver within a limited radius and take orders online. Just go to http://www.reno1.pizanosdelivers.com/deliveryarea.php
