Aces shortstop Chris Owings recorded the first three home run game of his career on Tuesday night, en route to a 7-4 Reno victory over the Fresno Grizzlies at Chukchansi Park.

Fresno starter Mitch Lively walked Tony Campana in both the first and the third, putting a runner on to set the scene for Owings’ first two home runs on the night.

Owings made history in the fifth, his third at bat of the game, as he blasted his third longball to join Cole Gillespie as the only batters in Aces franchise history with three home runs in a single game. Brad Snyder followed up that homer with a shot of his own to mark the first back-to-back home runs for the Aces since June 20, 2012.

Tyler Bortnick also added a home run in the fourth, bringing Reno’s total to five on the night. The Aces five home runs is tied for second most in franchise history, just one shy of the record (six on April 28, 2011).

Six of Reno’s nine hits on the night went for extra bases, topped off by a double off the bat of Snyder.

Owings was perfect at the plate, going 4-for-4 with five RBI and three runs scored. The game marked Owings’ third four-hit performance of the season, and his 46th multi-hit game of the season. Forty-six multi-hit games sets a new single-season record for the slugger, who leads all of professional baseball with 143 hits this season.

Reno starter Garrett Mock earned his sixth win of the season, tied for most among Aces pitchers. He was charged with four runs—all earned—on six hits through 5.1 innings, while striking out seven. Chaz Roe was credited with his team-leading fifth save.

The series wraps up Wednesday night, as the Aces look to earn a series win. RHP Matt Wright (0-0, No ERA) gets the nod for Reno in his Aces debut, while the Grizzlies will counter with RHP Chris Heston (7-5, 5.73 ERA). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m
