Bishop Manogue Catholic High School Names Female President

From The Ferraro Group:

The Board of Directors of Bishop Manogue Catholic High School (BMCHS) today announced that it has selected Maureen "Mo" Kachurak to become BMCHS president effective July 1, 2013. Kachurak, who will become the first female president in the 65-year history of Bishop Manogue, will replace interim President James Toner.

Kachurak, a graduate of Bishop Gorman Catholic High School in Las Vegas and the University of Nevada- Reno, has been involved for three decades with not-for-profit and for-profit community development in the Reno/Sparks area. Most notably she was the Chief Executive Officer of the Boys and Girls Club of the Truckee Meadows from 1994 to 2005 and most recently serves as president and chairman of the Minnie B. Leonette Foundation. Kachurak was the Reno Catholic Diocese Volunteer of the Year in 2005 and was twice honored by the Nevada Women's Fund as "Woman of the Year" in 1996 and 1999.

"First, I want to thank Jim Toner for stepping out of retirement to help lead Bishop Manogue – I'll be the first to acknowledge that we all owe Jim a debt of gratitude," said the Most Reverend Randolph R. Calvo, Bishop of Reno.

Calvo continued, "As we were searching for just the right person to become president at Bishop Manogue, we knew that our president must have superior organizational skills, an exceptional sense of our Catholic community, the special qualities needed to draw people together and the experience to lead. I am supremely confident in Mo's ability to help strengthen the Catholic identity and academic excellence of Bishop Manogue while at the same time proudly representing Bishop Manogue in the community at-large."

"I am grateful and excited for this opportunity to be the new president of Bishop Manogue Catholic High School. I look forward to this new journey in life and to working with Bishop Calvo, a dynamic Board of Directors, our new Principal Rick Harris, faculty, parents and alums to ensure continued success for our students," Kachurak said.

"Our mission statement says, ‘Bishop Manogue Catholic High School is committed to Educating through Faith, Leadership, Knowledge, and Compassion' – Mo embodies these ideals and she is well-prepared to help Bishop Manogue succeed in every way possible," said incoming Chairman of the BMCHS Board of Directors Mark Elston.
