At Achieve Fitness in Midtown Reno, there's a new option for getting in shape. And no matter where you are in your physical fitness, Tabata Bootcamp helps everyone. Karen Carabio is the owner of Achieve Fitness. "It's based on scientific studies by a man named Tabata in Japan. And it's been proven to burn more fat in a shorter period of time and to improve for athletes vo2 max. So whether you're unfit and want to burn fat or you're an athlete and want to improve your performance it's appropriate for all."

Here's how Tabata works. It's based on high intensity interval training, spiking your heart rate and then bringing it back down. Cameron Duncan is one of the instructors. "Upper body, lower body and core exercises throughout the 30 minutes. It's 30 minutes of hard work with interval rest. 20 seconds of working hard, 10 seconds resting in between those intervals. That achieves better results."

Participants do a class three times a week and then do 6 minute web based workouts daily. People in this class are loving it.Suzanne Cooper is new to Tabata Bootcamp. "Oh my gosh it's a workout. But it was exciting it's fun."
