Aces Fall to Padres, 8-2

Posted: Updated:

Tucson's Mike Wilson terrorized the Aces Sunday afternoon, as Reno suffered an 8-2 loss to the Padres at Aces Ballpark.

Wilson drove in six runs in the game, including a two-run home run in the first and a three-run shot in the seventh. His sixth double of the season in the fifth also drove in a run. The slugger went 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored.

The Aces struggled offensively, posting just two runs on six hits. An RBI double off the bat of Ed Easley and an RBI single by Alfredo Marted plated Reno's only runs.

Chris Owings' hot streak continued, as he recorded his 6th-straight and team-best 42nd multi-hit game. He went 2-for-4 in the game, with two doubles.

RHP Garrett Mock suffered his fourth loss of the season, giving up four runs on six hits through 4.2 innings. He walked four and struck out four. RHP Brett Lorin was the lone Reno pitcher to not give up a run, throwing a perfect ninth frame.

The series continues on Monday night at Aces Ballpark. LHP Tyler Skaggs (5-5, 4.60 ERA) will get the nod for Reno, while the Padres will counter with RHP Sean O'Sullivan (6-4, 3.95 ERA). First pitch is set for7:05 p.m. for another Margarita Monday presented by Alice @ 96.5, featuring half-price margaritas.
