Places 2 Check Out: Asian Paradise

Posted: Updated:

From the outside, you're not quite sure what to expect when you walk through the doors to Asian Paradise. And that's exactly what owner, Tony Chang, says about his menu as well. If you're expecting your typical Chinese place, this is not it. "For instance, the tofu comes from Japan and the Korean beef like kim chee beef that's a really good one. I like to offer it to my guests. It's not easy to find it here.

Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese, Thai. They're all represented on the menu. Tony used to have two restaurants in Taiwan. In fact, he has more than 25 years experience in this business. And he's bringing his own family recipes and healthier cooking techniques to his first restaurant here in the U.S. "In my restaurant we put less oil, less salt. It's almost like a lot less than the others. You can taste and enjoy the Chinese and Asian food but not necessary to have so much grease so much heavy things."

When you think of Chinese food, you likely think of meat drowning in sauce. But not at Asian Paradise. Many of the traditional dishes, like kung pao chicken, are served sans sauce. "It's dry but I put the real good peppercorn like that but it will taste not like the other restaurants. But think everyone who tastes it will like it because it's different."

So the next time you're feeling like a some Chinese food, you might want to check out Asian Paradise and have some Korean, Thai and Japanese food as well.
