Atlantic Aviation Terminal Groundbreaking Held in Reno

Posted: Updated:

A company based at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport broke ground on a $7 million expansion Thursday.

The east side of the airfield was demolished by heavy equipment to make room for a new Atlantic Aviation facility.

Once it's finished, it will include a 13,000 square foot terminal and nearly a 30,000 square foot hangar- primarily serving private business jets.

"This is a growing airport and we're excited to be a part of it. We think that the industry is coming back. We think that the economy is coming back and the corporate aircraft that come in and out of Reno-Tahoe really need and deserve a first class terminal building," says CEO Louis Pepper.

The airport says the new terminal will help bring new business to northern Nevada.

The terminal should be finished by next April.
