Power Outages in Stead, Spanish Springs, Washoe Valley

Customers in the Stead area and Spanish Springs are starting to get some back power on after weather-related issues cut off electricity Monday afternoon.

More than 3,400 customers lost power north of Reno just before 3:15pm after a lightning strike hit a power pole in Lemmon Valley. There's no word on when power will be restored to all 4,000 people.

Some Spanish Springs customers are also getting back power after a lightning strike there.

About 4,000 customers lost power around 4pm. Crews are getting equipment to make repairs.

And – about 130 customers in Washoe Valley remain without power – at the time of this writing along Eastlake Boulevard. Crews are en route to figure out the problem.
