Places 2 Check Out: Pizza Factory

Posted: Updated:

Pizza Factory has the corner suite in a still developing strip mall on Pyramid Highway and Eagle Canyon Road. And it's the pizza itself that's the cornerstone of this restaurant. There are tons of options to chose from, but most go for the Miner. A combination of tons of meat with mushrooms, green peppers, onions and olives. Michael Sanchez is the owner. "We don't cheat on any toppings. You order a topping you get a full topping. There's no shortcuts. You gotta eat it with a fork a lot of times because the toppings fall off."

The back corner of the restaurant is lined with video games. Large screen TV's carry all the games. And there's a horseshoe pit right outside. Yes, they have horseshoe leagues every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays. A perfect place for people who like to play while they chow down on pizza or many other items as well. "We make our own lasagna. We make our own meat balls. We have sandwiches and pastas. So freshness is number one. Great product."

Just a few years ago, Michael and Terri Sanchez were prison guards out in Susanville. Like so many others, they retired and went to work only this time making pizzas with their son Chase and other family members. They say this is work, but they love every minute of it.

Pizza Factory is located at 9725 Pyramid Way, at the corner of Eagle Canyon Road. Be careful, GPS sends you too far North. Their grand opening is Saturday, June 1st. They'll have lots of fun and surprises starting at 11am.
