Man Arrested on Elder Abuse, Fraud Charges

Truckee Police have arrested a 48-year-old man on multiple counts of check fraud, forgery, theft, burglary and financial elder abuse charges.

Officers say they learned of the alleged crimes from family members. They say Richard Copeland had been stealing money and other items from his family members for several months.

Police arrested Copeland on Wednesday. He was booked into the Nevada County Jail on the felony counts. His bail is set at $25,000.
