Reno Dodge Gives Two Charities $10,000

Posted: Updated:

Reno Dodge donated $10,000 to the Canine Rehabilitation Center and Sanctuary and the Nevada Diabetes Association after holding a contest on Facebook.

The donations came from Reno Dodge's "Causes We Care For" program.

It normally awards only one winner, but since voting was so close Reno Dodge decided to give both local charities $10,000 each.

Both organizations say the money is a big help.

"This just allows us to be able to help out more people," says CRCS Executive Director Kristen Ivey.

Director, Nevada Diabetes Association Director Sarah Gleich adds, "the $10,000 from Reno Dodge is going to help us give scholarships for kids to go to our diabetes camps. And those are the scholarships for the kids who can't afford to go to the camp programs"

Reno Dodge's owner plans to hold more online contests in the future.

And - Reno Buick GMC Cadillac also gave back today.

For the last three months, they've been collecting $100 for each new car sold.

And today they wrote a check for more than $19,000 to the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation.
